Every Apple accessories brand says the same thing: premium quality, made with passion, customer satisfaction guaranteed. We say it too — but that's not actually why we started.
January 2014, No Idea What We Were Doing
Hanging Owl was founded in January 2014 by two people who, in our own words at the time, "had no idea why and what we were doing." We had a business plan. We didn't follow it. If we had, honestly, we probably would have failed before we even started.
That's not a humble-brag origin story. It's just true. We started because we saw a gap: people who owned Apple devices outside India's big metro cities had almost no reliable, well-made accessories they could actually trust — without paying import prices or gambling on marketplace sellers with no track record.
Building From Outside the Metros
One thing our customers tell us again and again, in their own words, is something like this: "Sitting away from all the metropolitan cities, you are an authentic source for accessories."
That line — from an actual customer, not marketing copy — is closer to our real story than anything we could write ourselves. We're not based in Mumbai or Bangalore, competing for the same warehouse space and the same influencer partnerships as the big names. We built Hanging Owl serving the India that doesn't always get first access to new product drops — and we built our reputation on showing up reliably for that audience.
What "Premium" Actually Means to Us
We don't chase every new case design or copy what's trending on Instagram. Our AirPods cases, iPhone covers, Apple Watch bands, and MacBook sleeves are built around one question: will this actually last, and will it actually fit?
That's why customers tell us things like finding a laptop cover "no longer in production... in such supreme condition," or that a color match was "exactly as shown in the picture" — not flashy praise, just people confirming we did what we said we'd do.
Where We Are Now
Over a decade later, we ship free, fast — 2 to 4 working days — across India, with hundreds of genuine customer reviews behind us. We're still not the biggest name in Apple accessories. We're still figuring things out as we grow. But we know exactly why we're doing this now, even if we didn't back in January 2014.
